We arrived in Paracas just in time for sunset, and took about 20 photos which I know now will be the first of thousands. It's a tiny little fishing village outside of the main town pisco which is where they have had violent muggings so we decided to stay clear! We made some friends on the bus who we are sticking with as they speak Spanish and are as old as us plus have a similar outlook so are good to hang out with. The bus was pretty cool, reclining seats, a waiter, 3 course meal and 2 films so like a plane on the road really. We eased in to the whole bus thing as it was only 4 hours, some hairy ones to come though.
We got up at 6.30 to get on a boat out to islas de ballestas, which after a badly organised cattle heard to the boat was actually pretty cool. It was a fast speed boat journey out there so woke us up a bit. The islands were literally rocks covered with birds, sea lions and penguins, and we got loads of pics.
There isn't a lot else here so we are getting on the bus again tonight and heading to ica, and onto huchinchina which is an oasis in the desert and also a bit of a party down by the sound of it so we might partake in a few pisco sours this evening with our new mates.
